The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a large, next-generation space telescope set to succeed the Hubble Space Telescope. It's named after James E. Webb, a former NASA administrator. JWST is designed to study the universe in infrared wavelengths and is expected to provide unprecedented insights into the early universe, the formation of stars and galaxies, and the potential for life elsewhere.
